Hi! My name's Alliyah (pronounced: aa-l-yah)

I'm a 22 year old English Literature graduate, avid reader and aspiring writer. I live in London with my 'slightly' large and 'almost' dysfunctional family without whom I would be incomplete.

Soulflower is currently filled with book-related content and the occasional stream of consciousness!

Up until recently the name of my blog was Risk to Write. While that once seemed fitting, for the past year I felt dissatisfied with the name but kept it until I came up with something I really loved. Then, a dear friend of mine started calling me her 'soul flower' and that really made me smile because a) sunflowers are one of my favourite things in the whole wide world and b) the idea of being a 'soulful' person appeals to me, someone who is conscientious, gentle and a deep thinker. Things that I am, things I am striving to be.

I hope you enjoy reading my posts as much as I enjoy writing them.

Hello Alliyah,

You write beautifully, and I was wondering whether you could provide me with some tips on how to write as well as you.

I haven't had the chance to attend school properly due to personal reasons, but I would like to study English Literature once I complete the educational exams and meet the university requirements. So, I was wondering whether you could tell me how to become a better writer, please.
